Who We Serve

Youth referred through community partners, social services, and local programs

Who Comes To Camp

Opportunity Camp serves children from underserved and under-resourced communities, many referred through Contra Costa County programs and partner organizations.

Some are part of foster systems. Some come from unstable home environments. Others simply have never had access to opportunities like this, something as simple as a week away, time in nature, or being part of a supportive group.

For many, this is their first time stepping outside of their everyday environment and into something new. That alone can be overwhelming, but it also creates an opportunity for something meaningful to happen.

Throughout the week, they are surrounded by people who are present, encouraging, and consistent. That kind of environment is rare for many of the kids we serve.

It is often the first place where they feel fully supported, included, and encouraged, not for what they have, but for who they are.

Where Campers Come From

Campers are primarily referred through Contra Costa County programs and community partners, including VESTIA and local organizations working directly with families.

These partnerships help reach kids navigating financial hardship, foster care systems, or limited access to resources, kids who would otherwise not have access to a camp experience like this.

The goal is simple: remove barriers and create a place where every child has the opportunity to step into something better, even if just for one week.
