A Brief History

Opportunity Camp was founded in 1969 and has continued to offer a safe camping experience for the underprivileged children of our community. These children come from broken, abusive and poverty stricken homes as well as group homes and foster homes.
At Opportunity Camp, kids find refuge from their inner city struggles amidst the back drop of the California redwoods, in a beautiful mountain setting. They can discover nature, hike, play sports, make crafts, sing, perform skits, develop friendships, learn teamwork, discipline, unity and trust. This is a place where they can receive praise for their accomplishments.
